The Milkers of Mangrt Mountain
These men live in the shadow of Mangrt Mountain in Slovenia. The sheep and goat's milk is made into cheese, which is sold to hikers, tourists and others who pass through their valley. This image was taken of them milking the sheep early in the morning. July 2014.
The Shepherds of Mangrt Mountain
These men are shepherds and cheese makers that live on Mangrt Mountain in Slovenia. The land they live on has been a sheep-farming region for five centuries, and the method they use to make cheese is hundreds of years old.
Shot a little over a year after Katrina, this photo was part of a story about how New Orleans and the area around it was open for business again. It was, but the wounds from Katrina had not yet healed. My bud Mark Frederick is on the Harley.
Brijuni National Park, Croatia
The Brijuni or the Brijuni Islands are a group of fourteen small islands in the Croatian part of the northern Adriatic Sea. This photo was taken in the national park, which has bike trails that allow you to explore the Roman ruins and gorgeous coast.

The Artist in his Shop Mark Walker AKA the Antipodean Tynker is an Australian craftsman who builds steampunk motorcycles in a tiny shop in Walcha, Australia. He has only allowed a few people in his shop. This photo was made in November 2017. I wandered into his shop, and he agreed to let me make this photograph.
This tiny village in Slovenia is accessible by a road so narrow and long that traffic is only allowed in one direction (the directions switch at specific times each day). The village is populated mainly by a few subsistence farmers, some of which are my distant relatives.

That's a Victory motorcycle and Manny Pandya, part of the team of brothers (Manny and Robert) who ran Victory PR for many years. With Victory shutting down, this photo has become a tad more poignant--those two were both part of what made that brand rock n roll.
